Assam Agriculture University:

Assam Agricultural University (AAU) is an agricultural university which was established in 1969 under the Assam Agricultural University Act 1968 January 2, 1969. The jurisdiction of the University extends to the entire State of Assam with regard to teaching, research and extension education in the field of agriculture and allied sciences. The University has a number of campuses with its headquarters at Borbheta, about 5 km from both bus station and railway station and 2 km from airport of the City of Jorhat. The city can be reached easily from Guwahati, the capital of Assam, by Air/Road/Rail. The objectives of the University are:

·         To make provision for imparting education to the people in agriculture and other allied branches of learning

·         To further the advancement of learning and research in agriculture and other allied sciences

·         To undertake the extension of such sciences especially to the rural people of the state.

Educational Qualification:

 Candidate should possess Post Graduation in Agro-Meteorology/ Meteorology/ Agronomy/ soil science/ Agricultural physics/ Geophysics with knowledge in computer application.

 Candidates may be obtain application forms from the office of the Director of Research (Agri), Assam Agricultural University on payment of Rs. 20/- through IPO in favour of the Director of Research (Agri), AAU, Jorhat-13 payable at AAU Jorhat PO.

Application Fee:

 Candidates have to pay Rs. 300/- through A/c Payee Bank Draft in favour of the Director of Research (Agri), Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat-13 of any nationalized bank.

How to Apply:

 Eligible candidates may send their application in prescribed format along with attested copies of all certificates, fee, two copies of recent passport size photograph, one self addressed envelope affixing postal stamp of Rs. 5/- to the office of the Director of Research (Agri), Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat-785013 on or before 09-11-2015.
